2011 Bujold Fest
Okay, based on the poll, the vast majority of you either actively want the Fest to be held on AO3 or are at least okay with it being held there, so I think that's what we're going to do. Change is good! At the very least, it will make collecting and organizing the prompts very easy, and we won't have to post fic in comments. I believe, also, that fics will be linked to directly from the prompt table, which will make finding them easy as well.

However, if for whatever reason you don't want to post to AO3, you are welcome to post to LJ, and I really don't care where you crosspost to. I imagine a lot of the fic will end up being posted to bujold_fic anyway, so those of you who were worried you won't get to see it because you don't check AO3 everyday shouldn't be concerned.

The only real catch in all of this is that an AO3 account is required in order to leave prompts. I now have ten invite codes to give away to those who need them; please comment to receive one via PM. If I run out, I can probably request more and get them in the next couple of days. For those who don't want to acquire an AO3 account, glishara and philomytha have both offered very kindly to post your prompts to AO3 for you. This is only for people who do not have an AO3 account and don't wish to have one - otherwise, please do it yourself, since this has the potential to be very time consuming.

I will need a couple of days to get everything set up and to get the invite codes to those who want them, but I expect to open the fest up for prompts and claiming over the weekend. Thank you for your patience and your understanding - I know this is a big change, but I truly believe it will be for the best.

I also have a spare AO3 invitation, if anyone needs.

I'm more of a lurker on this comm (I don't think I can get the voice right to write), but I have AO3 invites as well and could send some, if you need more.

I like one. Don't know if I'll write or prompt, but I'd like the option. Thanks!

I'd like an invite please. I don't know if I'll have a prompt or fic to contribute but I like the option please. Thank you.

I think I actually need an email from you in order for it to work (unless you've been able to use the code I sent you, in which case please disregard this message entirely).

So sorry I haven't been able to respond to your PM on the code. The problem is that when I went to AO3 it was down because of "heavy load" and I couldn't get in and I haven't managed to find time to try it again since.

I'm not sure how you apply the code as well. Where does one go to fill it in?

At any rate, maybe you should email me at xandrabelle2002@yahoo.com? I apologize for the inconvenience.

I would also like an invite. Thanks! A new place to hide my identity...isn't the web fun?

I'm hoping to write if I have time! Please send an invite code.

I just read 'em; I can't write 'em. Will there be a list here?
sahiya on July 19th, 2011 05:44 pm (UTC)
There will be a list somewhere - on AO3 itself, and I may compile another list of fics that have only been posted to the LJ comm.
coalboycoalboy on July 19th, 2011 06:12 pm (UTC)
But I would be looking for a list on LJ of what has been posted at AO3, either with a master link or individual links.
sahiya on July 20th, 2011 06:36 am (UTC)
I probably will not be doing that. An advantage of the AO3 system is that all the fics are connected to the prompt table and also listed in a collection. I'm not going to make a separate list; it'd be totally redundant.
